This attractive box has been created by the outstanding Fedoskino artist Alexander Mikheev. It shows an Owl family. The color palette includes green and brown tones but the effect of their combination is stunning! Almost invisible silver dust is spread throughout the nest and the trees to fill it with a magic sparkle.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a platform. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskno and the year of 2012.
