Talented Fedoskino artist Roman Tyuvaev created this splendid box. It's whole surface is covered with colorful painting, including its interior!!!
The work is painted in the surrealist style as everything depicted here reminds the fragments of someone's dream. The lid shows two mermaids in the Sea surround fishes, shells and plants. The painting is extended on the box's sides where the artist painted more plants and shells. Top of the lid is painted in bright yellow oils over a huge piece of mother-of -pearl that helps the box look festive and bright. Mother-of-pearl shimmers through one of the mermaid's body and a body of a fish with a magic glow.
On the box's exterior bottom the artist painted the fish. The box's interior is covered with gold powder, and over this gold area the artist painted various images of underwater life and a portrait of a young pretty mermaid holding a large round pearl in her hand.
For the legs, that artist has used also irregular pieces of mother-of-pearl. The box is made of paper-mache and signed with the artist name and a date under the lid.
