This splendid dual-sided work is a creation of the popular Fedoskino artist, Pavel Govorun. The artist depicted a scene from Lewis Carroll's (1832-1898) classic tale "Alice in Wonderland". Here we can see a recognizable moment of the story when Alice becomes a guest at a mad tea party. She drinks tea with the Hatter, the March Hare, and the Dormouse, and listens to their stories. On the other side we can see Cheshire's Cat disappeared face and and the Caterpillar smoking the hookah on the big mushroom.
The scene demonstrates the unique style of Pavel Govorun. Blue, brown and white tones of oils predominate here. Silver powder shines through Alice's dress. The scene is framed with a rich scan ornaments.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the bottom of the box. The work is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2012, and Fedoskino.
