Description:

This peaceful composition was painted by a talented Fedoskino artist Galina Sverlova.
It shows us an a father-fisherman and boy on a shore of a large river. Father is carving a model of a boat for a boy by a knife. The boy is dreaming of a navy and wearing navy uniform to look like a real sailor!
On the background of the composition we can see two drying catchers for the fishes and a large house surround the woods.
The painting is very much detailed, the cloth of both figures is painted very precise!
The composition is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and dated.
