In this original composition talented Fedoskino artist Boris Shavirin has painted a moment when Prince Gvidon saw Princess Swan coming out from the Sea.
"The Tale of Tsar Saltan", or "The Princess Swan" is the traditional Russian tale of a king and his son who become separated due to the jealous interference of two wicked stepsisters. With the help of the Swan Princess, they are finally reunited after years of separation. And, of course, everyone lives happily ever after!
Two large pieces of mother-of pearl can be found in this composition. One is shining through a dress of the Swan and another-from the walls of beautiful palace on the background.
The box's sides are imitated the color of brown marble. The interior is covered with red lacquer.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2012.
