This beautiful box has been painted by well-known Fedskino artist Alexey Chirkov.
The box shows a forest witch Baba-Yaga with her servant- black cat on her shoulder and the basket full of fly-agaric mushrooms and other herbs, painted over several pieces of mother-of-pearl.
The composition is framed with a scrappy blanket like ornament.
The sides of the box are decorated with fly-agaric mushrooms painted in silver paint.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the bottom of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and a year of 2013. The name of the -Baba Yaga is signed in silver paint on the exterior bottom of the box.
