Description:

Here is another creation of the prominent artist Nikolay Zotov. He ranks as the one of the best contemporary Masters in Fedoskino. This artist has a peculiar style, and very often his boxes are originally shaped, that is why it is always easy to recognize his unique creations. This interesting installation has also a unique shape of hut!
This colorful lacquer miniature depicts scenes from a well-known Tale of Tsar Saltan written by Russia's great poet Alexander Pushkin. In the center of the composition is the Tsar with 2 daughters.
Like in most of his works, here the artist Zotov has created a multi-layered composition to get a three-dimensional effect. Also, Zotov has used a piece of mother-of-pearl, (on the left side), on which Magic squirrel is painted .
The installation is constructed from paper-mache and epoxy rosin, painted by oils. The work is signed with the artist's name . Its interior is covered with light gray oils. The box's exterior bottom imitates the blue marble (tiny light blue veins are scattered against the bright background). The lid is hinged. The hut-shaped box is rests on two parallel platforms.
