The edge of a lid and the sides of the box are decotrated with intricate gold ornament.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Its exterior and interior are covered with black lacquer while interior is painted with dark blue paint. It has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests on four small round legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, 2014 and the village of Fedoskino on the exterior of the bottom of the box.
