Olisova Larisa is the exceptional talented artist behind this interesting work. Here Olisova has depicted a pair flirting on a Masquarade. The face of Lady is hidden behind the mask, both major figures are dressed very rich.On the back side there are also few figures. Lady's face is looks very pretty and not covered with glasses or mask. A young boy to the right has a hat of a Jester.
The whole composition is richly decorated with several pieces of mother-of-pearl! One piece is "hidden" under the fan of a lady, the other one is in her dress, one more in the mask of a lady to the left and the last one is in the tambourine of Jester.
The sides of the box are richly decorated in a style which first time was used by the famous pair Shapkin-Kareva. The gold leaf is glued to the surface and then cut the gold out it the artist is making rich ornamentation!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The exterior of the box is black painted, while red lacquer completes it's interior. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title (Masquerade), and the village of Fedoskino.
