This beautiful piece was created by Kholui artist Mitunina. Zina Mitunina is a specialist in floral compositions using the tempera art in her art work.
The work is called "Summer". It is painted in yellow, red and green paints against black background. The composition is complex and consist of different kinds of flower and two big butterflies.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on wavy legs. Signed with the name of the artist, the village of Kholui and the title on the exterior's bottom.
