Description:

This box was painted in a dual effort by the married team of Svetlana and Yevgeniy Vlasov. These two possess some of the finest talent Kholuy has to offer.
Here the artists have chosen to depict a scene from the timeless fairy tale of Cinderella, ", or "Zolushka" (it is the Russian version of the tale) tells about the poor and hard working girl who is rewarded in the end of the story for her kind heart and love to labor. The handsome Prince proposes marriage to her, and she becomes the Princess.
The composition is originally designed. In the center there is the scene set in a circle that features Cinderella doing her daily chores. Kind mice help the poor girl. Beyond the boundaries of the circle the artists have depicted two Ciderella's stepsisters who mock at the girl. Besides them we can find here the mouse, the cat and the crystal shoes.
The artists have used a variety of paints to create a believable world on the box. Each element of the composition is thoroughly detailed with gold paints.
The box's exterior is decorated with intricate and decorative gold filigree with aluminum accents.
On the interior of the lid the artists have added a beautiful pattern of golden filigree which surrounds an inscription. The inscription lists the materials used, the authors' names and the fact that this is an artist original, the title for the piece, the village name of Kholuy and the year of 2005 of which the piece was finished.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while dark red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and rests on a flat bottom.
