This profound presentation of genuine Russian artistry was painted by Ye. Vlasov from the village of Kholui. It features several well detailed scenes from the Russian classic entitled, "The Princess Frog".
In the middle of the composition we see the three brothers who have launched their arrows at different direction to find their wives. The arrows fell and showed where their future wives lived. The older brother's arrow fell near the house of the rich boyarynia (she is depicted from the left of the brothers standing on the balcony and looking at the mirror). The middle brother's arrow fell near the merchant daughter (she is depicted from the right of the brothers looking through the window and holding the arrow in her hands). The youngest brother wasn't so lucky; his arrow fell in the swamp near the frog (it is depicted below the brothers). In the box's left bottom corner the artist depicts the proudest moments experienced by young Ivan Tsarevich. The three brothers were invited to a large feast and they were told to bring their wives. Everyone made fun of poor Ivan when he showed up alone. That was, until the gorgeous Vasilisa the Wise and Clever appeared! Here, she creates a miniature lake full of swans with just one nonchalant wave of her hand. In the left bottom corner the artist paints Ivan Tsarevich asking the smith to horseshoe his steed as he is going to set out in search of his wife Vasilisa. In the left upper corner Ivan Tsarevich searches for his beloved Vasilisa who has disappeared after Ivan decided to burn the frog skin. In the right upper corner there is the Bear whom Ivan almost killed, but then he felt sorry for the beast and spared his life. Here the Bear repays Ivan's kindness trying to kill the dragon (the dreaded Koshchei the Deathless who has stolen Vasilisa turned into this dragon to battle with Ivan Tsarevich). In the upper part of the composition, in the middle the duck flies to take out the needle (this needle contains the Koshchei's death) from the chest hanging on the old oak repaying her debt to Ivan.
The composition is originally designed. It consists of two circles filled with drawings featuring the beginning and the end of the fairy-tale and another space covered with the scenes from the middle of the tale. Each of the scenes is an absolute delight. The details within the compositions are enhanced tremendously by the golden and aluminum contours illuminating each and every inch of the moment composed.

The composition is framed with gold beading while the sides of the box are decorated with elaborately painted very beautiful gold and aluminum ornamentation.
The box is constructed from paper-mache made in the village of Kholui. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the scene while radiant red lacquer completes the interior of the piece. The box is hinged and rests flat. On the lid's interior the artists signed his name, the village name of Kholui, the year of 2014, the title, the fact that it is the artist's original, the title and the materials out of which the box was made.
