Description:

It is the original work painted by renowned artist Olga Strunina. Olga is a daughter of famous Mstera artist Lev Fomichev. She has taken the skill inherited from her father and added her own flair and talent to become an accomplished artist in her own right. She is now married to Konstantin Strunin, another well-known artist.
The composition is called "May without War", and it is dedicated to the victory won by the Russians over the fascist Germany. The artist depicts the May of 1945, when many soldiers returned home, a peaceful life had been restoring. In the foreground we can see the Russian soldiers enjoying the peaceful life. One of them plays the accordion, while another one flirts with the beautiful young girls depicted to the left from them. In the background the artist depicts the rainbow over the Moscow Kremlin. It symbolizes the victory, and the beginning of peaceful life, whereas the subsiding storm painted in the right upper corner symbolizes the war.
The composition is framed with a gold line, while the edges of the lid are decorated with beautiful gold floral patterns. The sides of the box are adorned with the similar gold floral patterns accented with green and red tempera paints.
The box is constructed from paper-mache made. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while a lively red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge has been fastened to the top of the composition and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed, titled and dated (2005) by the artist.
This box is a participant of an Expo , devoted to a World War II, which took a part in Moscow in May 2005 .
