Description:

This enchanting piece of authentic Russian artistry was composed by Mstera master Anatoliy Shirokov. His works exude harmony among color and design. Fairy tale animation that is extremely balanced. A handsome addition to any collection, refined beauty.
The composition is called "Saint Spring". It shows the priest consecrating the string that runs not far from the small wooden church. The halo above his head shows that he is a really devout man. Peasants from the nearest villages have come here to drink the healing water from this string and cure their diseases. They pray and hold burning candles, looking with admiration at two white swans hovering over the string; it is a sign of God's graces. The Blessed Virgin with a Child looks from the icon hovering in the air at all people who have gathered here. She blesses all of them, and helps to cure their diseases. This small wooden church must be built in honor of the Blessed Virgin. In Russia there are a lot of such strings. Some of them are old ones, located on various sacred places; the others have been consecrated not long ago.
Different shades of green dominate this scene. Gold is also used to add different details, and to attract a good amount of light.
Beautiful and elaborate floral patterns painted in gold frame the composition, and decorate the edges of the lid. The plate is made out of paper-mache, and covered with black lacquer. It has a loop, and can be hung on the wall. The work is signed and titled by the artist at the bottom of the composition. Shirokov again titles, signs, and lists the materials he used, on the backside of the plate around his personal insignia.
