Olga Strunina from the village of Mstera is the author of this nice, small box. In the center of the box's lid the artist has painted beautiful flowers and butterflies hovering over them. The flowers are skillfully painted in soft tempera paints and neatly detailed in gold. The edges of the lid are adorned with intricate scrollwork painted in gold and aluminum.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's initials, Mstera, the title ("Morning Inspiration") and the year of 2007 .
