Description:

Mikhail Strunin of Mstera is the talented master responsible for the delightful box before you. It is another piece from his series of works dedicated to an Old Moscow. Working on it, Strunin has used the old painting drawn in the 1820s entitled "Moscow. The Red Square.18th Century". Looking at this scene, the viewer can imagine how ancient Moscow looked like.
In this work Strunin has used his favorite palette filled with a noble mixture of pale brown and gray tones. The scene is detail with brilliant gold paint.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the piece. Gold floral ornamentation frames the scene on the lid. Another floral design, but a little bigger in size, wraps around the sides of the box. The box is unhinged and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera and the title ("Moscow. The Red Square, the 18th Century").
