Description:

This remarkable organization of color, detail and thematic expression was composed by the well-known Mstera artist Vladimir Molodkin. There is exceptional interaction here. Molodkin creates a harmony between the spiritual world and the physical world that is very difficult to produce. Thankfully, the artist is recognized for his ability to do so. The composition is entitled "Remember", it is the artist's admonition to all the Russians that may be treated as following: "Don't forget the glorious history of Russia, don't forget the feats of your ancestors, don't forget Russian Saints, don't forget that you are Russian!.
In the center of the composition the artist depicts the Russian Saint Alexander Nevsky riding the mighty steed and holding the sword in his hand. It was he who said the famous warning: "And who with a sword will come to us - from the sword will die. On that Russia stood and will stand!" In the left part of the composition the artist depicts Yaroslavna who is the character of the great Russian historical chronicle "Word of the Igor's regiment". This chronicle tells how the Grand Duke Igor and his brother Vsevolod fought against Polovtsian (a tribe that lived in the territory of modern Ukraine). Yaroslavna is a symbol of a Russian woman's greatness. She stands on the defending wall of the ancient Russian town Putivl and weeps bitterly mourning brave Russian warriors and addresses to the sun: "Wonderful sun, you are warm and beautiful. Why do you burn young handsome warriors with your merciless rays? Why do you crook their bows with your arid thirst and oppress their hearts with unbearable anguish?" Just in front of her (beneath the figure of Alexander Nevsky) Yaroslavna's husband, Prince Igor, is depicted. He was savagely killed by the Polovtsy. To the right from him the artist depicts the warriors of Igor's regiment. Behind the figure of Yaroslavna the ancient Russian town and its citizens are depicted. Here the artist has managed to reproduce every day life, unique architecture and customs of the Russians in the Middle Ages. In the right upper part there is the scene showing the Russian troops defending the town against attack by the enemy. In the center of the composition we can also see the Tree of Life, and the legendary Bird Gamayun sitting on its branches. This bird is one of the Slavonic spirits. It has a female face and a female bosom. When it screams, it predicts happiness. Just over the Bird Gamayun there is the Slavonic god
