Description:

Daniil Molodkin is one of the most popular Mstera artists around nowadays. His theme of grass world inhabited by dwarfs and elves is a favorite with all types of collectors. Each of his new boxes enriches this fantastic word, and we become more and more interested what the artist will invent while painting his future creations.
This work is called "Getters", and features the dwarf-hunter and the dwarf-fisherman who have met accidentally on the path, and now they discuss what prey they have succeeded to catch. The dwarf-hunter points at the huge fish his friend holds on his shoulders and expresses his rapture.
The characters are painted against green plants and grass; this background is usual for all Molodkin's works painted on this theme. The plants are intricately drawn and each of them has an individual look. Beetles and ladybirds crawl along the leaves and stems of some plants. Various shades of green dominate here. Gold is used to detail and outline key areas of the composition, which brings out a spark that enhances the surrounding colors.
The composition is framed with a thin gold line. Gold leafy ornamentation typical for all Molodkin's works decorate the lid's edges; the same gold leafy ornamentation only accented with aluminum paints can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The artist's name, Mstera and the title can be found right underneath of the composition.
