This gorgeous work has been created by the famous Mstera artist Mikhail Strunin. It continues his series of works dedicated to the architecture of ancient Moscow. Working on it, Strunin used old paintings drawn in the XVIII and XIX centuries.
The artist has done tremendous work, as this large box features nine masterfully painted scenes. It has four extensive paintings around the body, one rectangular composition on the lid's top, and a panorama that runs around the curved sides of the lid. At the bottom of each scene (except the scene painted on the lid's top) Strunin has written its title that explains what historically interesting place it depicts.
The front side of the box's body shows how the Moscow Kremlin and the Stone Bridge looked like in the XIX century. The right side depicts the view of the Armoury (Oruzheinaya Palata in Russian) in the XIX century. The world-famous Armoury is situated on the territory of the Moscow Kremlin. It is one of the oldest museums of Russia, a virtual treasure-house. On the rear side on the box's body Strunin has painted the view of the Resurrection Gates (Voskresenskyie Gates in Russian) and the Nikitskie Gates in the XIX century.
