This exquisite piece was created by famous Mstera artist Vladimir Moshkovich. Moshkovich built a well established career as a Mstera lacquer box artist that has won him many state awards and honors. In addition, his name is mentioned in almost every art book on Mstera.
The box shows several moments from the fairy-tale “Talkative Wife”. The entire surface of the box's exterior (except the exterior bottom) is covered with colorful scenes drawn in the unique Moshkovich's manner. Gold and aluminum paint is used to enhance various details, and also to add a definitive sparkle to the scenes.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box's exterior is decorated with intricate gold floral ornaments accented with aluminum. The lid is hinged, and the box rests on legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera, and the title.
