This colorful piece by popular Mstera artist Daniil Molodkin shows a recognizable scene from Lewis Carroll's classic tale "Alice in Wonderland".
Daniil is one of the three brothers of Molodkins family.The other ones are Nikolay and Denis. Vladimir Molodkin-their father ,is a Top 10 Mstera artist, all of them are very-well known among the collectors!
On this box Daniil Molodkin has painted Alice watching for the running Rabbit. There are a lot of insects and bugs of all of the kind around Alice in the grass. Every character is painted very precisly, with very small details!
The palette that the artist uses a wide array of blues, greens, and earthtones to convey the natural setting in the scene. Gold as always, is used to enhance the details in the box and to fully bring the colors to life.
The depicted scene is framed with a line of gold paint. Precise and tightly wound gold foliage pattern decorates the edges of the lid. Similar gold foliage pattern accented with aluminum wraps around the base the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on four small legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera, the title and the year of 2010.
