Description:

Ludmila Lubomudrova of Mstera is the artist who painted this magnificent piece.
The box shows a recognizable scene from the popular story of "The Sleeping Beauty". This story was originally put to pen by French writer Charles Perrault in 1696. Here we can see the Prince entering the enchanted kingdom and all its inhabitants who are sleeping deeply, both people and animals.
The composition is painted in green and brown tones of tempera paints and thinly outlined with gold. Lubomudrova has then demonstrated her master hand by decorating the box's exterior with complex and very beautiful patterns using silver and gold paint.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge above the composition and rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2001, the title and the village of Mstera.
