This large five-sided box has been painted by one of the most popular Mstera artists Daniil Molodkin. The work is called "The Seasons" and it continues the artist's theme of a fictional world inhabited by fantastic creatures - little blue people who live in the grasses. Each side of the box shows peculiarities of a chosen season, and demonstrates what grass people do during this season.
Each depicted scene is filled with a variety of various characters, animals, insects, plants, and demonstrates different situations. The palette is rich but predominance is given to Molodkin's favorite greens, blues and reds. Gold paint is used to add various details throughout the scenes.
Each scene is outlined with gold. The box's exterior is decorated with Molodkin's style gold leafy ornaments.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera, the year of 2011 and the title on the lid's interior.
