Description:

Alexander Dogadin is the talent behind this unique box.You may have mentioned already that all of Alexander's boxes are original one-of-kind creations!
This is a scene from Pushkin's tale of "Ruslan and Ludmila".
Composition is divided into three round parts. On the left one we can see the battle of Ruslan with a Head.On the right one- Ruslan is fighting with Chernomor. And in the middle- is the central composition.
The colors taken from Dogadin's palette are extremely pleasing to the eye. Various shades of blue, yellow and red are dominate here. Contrast is spectacular!
The compositions are painted in three rounds, the rest of the lid is covered with a beautiful ornament painted in gold. The decoration of the sides is marvelous! It has a form of intricately arranged flowers and foliage. Its coloring alternates between blue and gold.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top and the box rests on four wavy legs. The artist wrote his name, the title and the village name of Mstera at the bottom of the composition in gold paint.
