Description:

Denis Molodkin, the Top Master of Mstera, painted this wonderfully creative composition. The scenes shows the fantasy based on Russian Fairytales.
On this box we can see Ivan tsarevich with his beloved traveled on a big brown bear? above that penguins are walking under the umbrella, to the right- the hut of Baba Yaga on the chicken legs with Baba Yaga itself in the window. On the roof of the hut- Mermaid is sitting here with an angel, nearby there is a magical animal-Unicorn. On the left side-there several fly-agaric mushrooms, which sometimes are poison...If you will take a look precisely, there are a lot more animals/elements-including baby-birds, which is following the bear and etc. Because of that-composition is full of hidden signs and mystical things, and it will take some time to find them all...
The sides of the box are coverd with gold leaves, over which an artist has painted a composition/ornament full of eggs, trees and plants!
The style of the box is the unique style of Denis Molodkin, and one familiar with his works can easily see his stylistic decisions. Those not familiar with his works can see right away the complexity in theme, composition, and context from which he draws his creative energy. He uses gold paint in subtle amounts to enhance the detailing in the clothing, landscape, and add some flair to the scene! This only works to make the already great depth, compositional flow, and colors that much more aesthetic in the overall distribution of visual brilliance in the scene. The brushwork is exquisite, which is enhanced by the hairline gold detailing he adds. This piece shows that geometrical, artistic, and technical exploitation, when in perfect harmony can yield tremendous results!
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. Golden beads ornamentation frames the scene on the lid and wraps around the sides of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition and rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, village, title and the year of 2013.
