Natasha Latsuk of Palekh has painted an egg featuring a pond overgrown with different plants. Lilies and water lilies painted in gold look very beautifully against the dark green background of the waterlogged pond. The dark green background is abundantly sprinkled with gold dust, it creates the beautiful ornamentation for the egg, and also reminds duckweed on the pond. The area where the plants are depicted is framed with gold beading.
The egg is covered with dark greens, blue, emerald, and gold paints. The plants are painted in gold. The brushwork shows the insanely thin line structure, which was produced by a brush with a single hair on its tip.
The egg is made out of paper-mache made in Palekh. Egg-tempera paint is used to paint most of the egg's body. Clear lacquer covers the exterior, which is polished to a glowing shine. The egg is signed with the artist's name, village, and year (2004).
