This elegant Palekh box is a creation of I. Luzgin. Here the artist has depicted a girl drinking tea in the garden. The scene is nicely painted in red and green tempera paints. Various details are enhanced with gold and aluminum paint.
The edges of the box are decorated with gold scrolling design. The box's sides are adorned with gold foliage pattern blooming with silver flowers.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid isn't hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Palekh, and the year of 2006.
