Well-known Palekh Master and a former teacher of Palekh Art school Vladimir Vlezko is the artist who painted this very detailed scene. Here we see a couple of troykas racing through a Summer landscape at the blistering paces while the drivers encourages the horses. The paces that are being set by the driver looks like it will not be slowing any time soon.
The human figures are painted in warm orange, red, green and white tones. Gold and aluminum paints are applied within the composition to add brightness and details. The application of metallic paints is very subtle yet yields great results!
The scene is framed with gold beads, while the box's sides are decorated with elegant gold ornamentation.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior and red lacquer is used to paint the interior of the box. The box has a hinge located above the composition and rests on four small round legs. Vlezko has signed the box with his name, Palekh and the year of 2012 at the bottom of the composition in gold paint.
