This one-of-a-kind wooden case was painted by a well-known and talented Palekh artist, Elena Schanitsina.
Elena (in maiden Novikova) married to a son Dmitriy of famous Ekaterina Schanitsina(the only one academician of Art in Palekh).
The case can be use as a cigarette case or as a case for business cards, or just like a pretty hand-painted item!
The case has the paintings from both of the sides. On the one we can see a cockerel and on the other one , a vase with the flowers.
The paintig is made mostly with the golden paint with the add of traditional red and green tempera paint. On the cockorel, the artist also used silver paint.The details are amazing and the work is like shines in hand, when you turns the painting under the different angles.
The case is made of wood, has a noble color. The lid is attached to the base with a nail, which is almost invisible.
The work is sign with the artist name, Lena Novikova-Schanitsina, Palekh and 2018 in black colors under the painting of the cockerel.
