This detailed box has been painted by a talented artist Valentina Kruykova from the village of Palekh.
The composition shows a plowman, who is going after a horse.
This composition is painted in traditional Palekh colors- reds, greens over the black background.
The composition is framed with a golden pattern on the lid and the sides of the box are decorated with gold and silver ornamentation.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior of the sides of the box and dark red lacquer covers the interior. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the name of the artist, Palekh and a year of 2019 at the bottom of the composition.
