This strikingly beautiful egg was painted by the famous Palekh artist Yekaterina Shchanitsina.
It features the birds sitting on the tree covered with big blossoms. The drawing is expertly painted in gold paints over the black lacquer. Aluminum is also used here, but in very minimal amounts. The egg is constructed from quality paper-mache. It is signed and dated (2004) by the artist.
