Talented artist Sergey Kolesnik from the village of Palekh is the creator of this interesting and very detailed composition.
The work is called Esse Homo.
Intricate golden work is used to frame the composition and to decorate the sides of the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while dark red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the composition. The artist wrote his name, the village name of Palekh, and the year of 1995 at the bottom of the box.
