This semi-antique ox was painted by one of the artists from Belousov family-Belousov Roman Leonidovich(1928-2008) or his father Belousov Leonid Ivanovich (1895-1979). Because there is no initials /name signed at this moment we only can guess... I will check with a director of Palekh art School-who was the painter of this box-his father or grandfather...
The box features Price Gvidon saving Princess Swan from the hawk's attack.
Gold floral ornament decorates the edges of the lid and the sides of the box.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the top of the scene, and the box rests on the four legs. It is signed with the name of the artist, the village of Palekh, and a year.
The box is in a very good shape for this year!
