Kortikova Luba is the artist who has painted this marvelous Palekh box.
This original work is painted on the theme of Circus. In the center of the composition an artist depicts a jester balancing on the rope and blowing the balloons. Clown is standing on only one foot, on the other foot he has a a ring, that he is rounding; the small monkey is trying to take this ring from his foot. In the other hand clown has a flower.The circus ring is wide and situated down of the clown. The scene is painted against the black background. The subtle application of gold paint highlighting almost all aspects and details of the composition.
The box's sides are decorated with ornament,consisting of flowers and golden ornamentation wrapping around the bottom part of the box's body.
This round box is made out of paper-mache. Red lacquer covers the interior of the box and black lacquer is used to paint the exterior. The box has no hinge and rests on three round legs. Signed with the artist's name and Palekh.
