This handcrafted masterpiece is painted by established Palekh artist Alexey Zhiryakov. Alexey comes from the famous family of Palekh artist. His father, Yugeniy Zhiryakov, mother, Galina Zhiryakova, and brother, Andrey, are prominent Palekh artists.
The casket is called "Winter Fairy tales" and paintings are based on several popular Russian Tales.
On a front side of the casket- fairy tale called -"The Two Father Frosts".
On a top-"Tale of a silver hoof".
To the right- "Tale of Morozko".
To the left- "Tale of magic pike".
On the back side- "Tale of Frost /Moroz Ivanovich".
The casket is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The edges of the lid are decorated with gorgeous floral pattern. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The work is entitled on the box's front side while the artist's name, Palekh and the year of 2013 are written at the bottom of the top composition.
