This very detailed classical Palekh scene is a creation of a Honored Artist of Russia, famous Master Nina Bogachova(born in 1941).
The work is calling "A date" and shows a romantic pair on a village street. A guy has bring a small bouquet of flowers for his beloved. On the background we can see a fisherman on a bank of the lake and a on a right hand side we can see a girl carrying water on shoulder-yoke.
The palette for this piece contains a wide spectrum of bright and vivid colors. Gold paint, applied with extreme precision, details almost every aspect of the composition. The edges of the lid are decorated with a simple pattern composed of gold beads. More complex gold rolling pattern can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box and red lacquer is used to paint the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title "Date", Palekh and the year of 2015.
