This matryoshka is masterfully painted by I. Obrizova from the town of Sergiev Posad. It includes three dolls painted on Christmas theme. The first doll shows Santa Claus carrying the big sack filled with presents. There is a small hole in the sack from where presents fall on the ground. He goes to a village painted on the opposite side to give his presents to little children. The second doll shows the Snowmaiden strolling in the forest, and the third doll shows the fir tree decorated with burning candles. To paint this work the artist has used different shades of blue. The figures of Santa Claus and the Snowmaiden are painted in oil paints mixed with aluminum dust. Aluminum and gold paints are used to detail the winter landscape, and the character's costumes.
