Zakharov Sergey Dmitrievich (1963)

Sergey Dmitrievich Zakharov was born on May 28, 1963 in the village of Protopopovo, Republic of Tatarstan.
In 1986 he graduated from Kholui Vocational School, his teacher was famous Artist Boris Kiselev. In the same year he has start working at Kholui Factory of lacquer miniatures.
Sergey has been participating in exhibitions since 1990 and now he is one of the leading artists of Russian Lacquer Art.
The artist has created more than 300 original compositions of the highest artistic level.
His works are based on the history and culture of Russia, folk stories and fairy tales, and fairy tales after Alexander Pushkin.
In 1993 Sergey Zakharov was admitted to the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation.
The artist's painting technique has been brought to perfection, his style is unique and recognizible. Miniatures of Zakharov fascinate the viewer with their exquisite drawing, richness of colorful harmony.
An artist has created a number of brilliant compositions, based on "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel" (2013), "By the Pike's Will" (2014), "The Humpbacked Horse" (2013), the casket "Russian Folk Tales" (2013), "Mythology ancient Slavs" (2016) and many other remarkable works of Art.
A significant and large-scale works of the artist is the painting of the ceiling, furniture, walls, window sills and columns in the mansion of Irina Viner-Usmanova,a famous Russian gymnastics coach. The themes of the painting were "Russian folk legends and fairy tales".
A magnificent ensemble, the overall composition is harmoniously built in close combination with the oriental style of the interior, with transitions from one plot to another, color richness, virtuoso technique of painting.
In 2018 the interiors of the Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics (in Moscow) were decorated with the works of Sergey Zakharov.
In 2004-2008 Sergey was a teacher of composition at the N. N. Kharlamov Kholui Art College.
Many young artists consider Zakharov their teacher, to many students he opened the way to creativity, being an example of service to art. The artist's works are kept in the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, in the Russian Museum, the State Museum of Kholui Art and other museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
Zakharov made a great contribution to the preservation and development of the traditions of Kholuyi lacquer miniature.
In 2019 Sergey Zakharov was awarded with the title of Honoured artist of Russia.
