Valentin Tikhomirov was born in 1947 in the village of Chernovorie in the Vyaznikovsky district of Vladimir Region. He currently resides in a house in Mstera along with his family: his wife, two daughters and two GrandChildren.
He studied under E.N. Zonina and N.I. Shishakov at the Mstera Art School before graduating in 1967. He used to work at Mstera Lacquer Miniatuare Factory after graduation from the School.
