This touching work has been created by Tatiana Amelina. The box depicts a girl and her Mom. The girl is sitting on a chair and her mother is squatting next to her and holding out a ball of thread.
The scene is masterfully painted in brown and red tones. The outer edge of the lid is painted with a fine band of gold paint. The base of the box has two lines done in gold painted parallel to each other, the bottom line slightly thicker than the other.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
