This attractive lanscape box has been painted by a talented Fedoskino artist Parmeonov Sergey. It is shows a panorama view of an Autumn forest.
On a foreground in the center we can see two large Oak trees, one near each other, their foliage is painted in gold.
To reproduce a chosen season realistically the artist has used several sheets of gold under the leaves of the tree. These sheets were glued on the sunface of a box and then the artist has made the painting over them. Using this technique, the artist has additionally achieved the radiance of the leaves of the tree, which is especially noticeable when you hold the lid of the box in hands and turn it at different angles!
The scene is framed with gold line; the sides of the box are decorated with two parallel lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The massive lid is hinged at the bottom and the box rests flat. The work is signed by the artist with his name.
