This unusual-shaped box was painted by a talented artist Igor Evmenenko from the village of Fedoskino. Evmenenko is used to work as a teacher at the Fedoskino art school.
The box shows the dragonflies hovering over flowers. The flowers are painted in bright oils in the realistic style against the black background. The wings of the dragonflies are blue.
The fragile, transparent wings of the dragonflies are detailed with yellow paint. The painting is extended on the box's sides where the artist continues to draw white flowers. Very detailed work!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened from the top of the composition. The box rests flat. The work is signed with the name of the artist, and the year of 2012.
