Liliana Slaeva is the author of this beautiful box. The work is called "Rowan beads" and shows two Russian peasant girls collecting Rovan berries and making the beads from them and trying them on.
The scene is painted in orange and red tones of oils over gold metal powder that helps to strengthen the color palette and fill the composition with a magic glow.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
