This splendid work is called "Dolls", and was painted by talented artist Sadovnikova Marina.
The use of gold and aluminum contouring within the scene is astounding. Hand painted poetry it is.
The waving gold ornamnet frames the scene. More complex ornamentation supplemented with intricate gold filigree patterns decorate the sides of the box.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers its exterior and red lacquer covers its interior. The box has a hinge from the left of the composition and rests on the four legs. The work is titled, signed with a the artist name and the village name of Kholui.
