This sentimental piece was painted by a talented Fedoskino artist, Olga Zayakina.
It features the portrait of a small girl with a kitten and a doll sit on an arm-chair.
The artist captures the facial expression of the girl and the kitten's lovable nature as well as executes composition full of detail and colorful delight. A doll is also very well painted.
The palette is amazingly close to one that imitates life. Both the girl's and the kitten's figures appear photo quality from a slight distance. It takes years to perfect the skill that it takes to paint a realistic portrait such as this.
The scene is framed with a floral golden ornament; more complex golden floral ornamentation wraps around the box's sides.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer with silver paint covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2019.
