This small and attractive box has been painted by well-known Fedoskino artist Tamara Volodina. Painted in various shades of blue and gray oils, it shows the elf boy who declares his love to his elf girl-friend.
The scene is extended on the box's sides where the artist continues to paint flowers, herbs and ladybugs. Each of the ladybugs depicted here are crafted three-dimensionally, they are coming out from the surface of the box! Gold paint is used to detail the costumes of the characters and the flowers.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The box's exterior is covered with creamy gray lacquer while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. Wide gold band is decorated the sides of the base of the box.
The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the title "Declaration (of Love"), and the year of 2019 on the interior of the base of the box.
