Description:

Sergey Kirsanov from the village of Fedoskino is known as a talented landscape painter. Being enchanted with the beauty of Russian nature in winter, he created a series of works painted on this theme. Each of them is perceptively and realistically painted showing a peculiar charm of Russian countryside.
This work continues this series, and depicts a small Russian village in the early spring. Brown, blue and gray tones suitable for the reproduction of the early spring dullness predominate here. Several pieces of mother-of-pearl are set into the sky to create a pink glow of the sunset and the depth of the composition! Looks like the first birds are coming back...we can see one of them in the sky over the wooden church.
The scene is framed with a gold line. The sides of the box are imitating the colors of the marble and they also decorated with two gold lines. The box's bottom is covered with black lacquer; the interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the top of the composition, and rests flat. Signed with the artist's name.
