Young , but talented Kholui artist, Tsaparina Galina, has painted this detailed composition.
Here she has chosen to depict a hunting scene. Several wood-grouses enjoy a sunny morning on the forest glade, and at the same moment a hunter with his dog sneak up to them anticipating with pleasure a good chase. To the left- we can recognize wolfs,on the background- wild boars, and to the right- on a small lake- two ducks.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
The lid is hinged from the top of the scene and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title- Hunt and the village of Kholui.
