This large five sided casket was painted on a Hunting theme by Galina Kapralova.
On the top of the box we can see a hunter, who escaped from two wild boars and hide on the top of the tree. The other older hunter on the left may help his colleague.
Each side shows different animals and scenes: Wood grouses, Ducks,Rabbits and Elks, etc.
The casket is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the piece. Golden ornamentation frames two parts of the lids, and decorates compositions on all the sides. The box has hinges from the left and right and rests on wavy platform with six legs.
It is signed with the artist's name, village of Kholui and title.
