Description:

Larisa Poturayko is the talented artist that designed the original sketch of this work, and then painted it with precise creativity and ingenuity. Here the Kholuy artist composed a playful elegance that very few artists are capable of.
The box features a romantic scene. The circus performance has finished, and now actors of the strolling circus are free. The young man, who has already taken off his clown costume, presents flowers to the beautiful lady who is the circus star. Nearby the circus animals, a cat and a dog, dressed in funny colorful costumes play merrily. In the background there is a trailer for traveling, and posters glued to the column.
The palette incorporates a great deal of soft tones, while keeping greens, pinks and browns in important positions. Poturaiko uses aluminum and gold paints to fill in and outline details with a delicate touch. This builds radiance and texture, both at the same time.
The scene is framed with elegant gold ornamentation. The box's sides are decorated with two parallel bands of gold filigree patterns painted against the green background. The box's exterior and interior are covered with light-green paint that is very appealing to the eye.
The box's bottom presents another scene. It features the clown sitting on the ball among flowers and holding the brush in his hands. Behind him there is a poster with the following inscription written by this funny clown: "Circus Actors. Larisa Poturaiko from Kholui." This original way has been chosen by the artist to title and sign her work. The artist's surname and the second title of the work ("Clowns") are written in gold paints under the scene painted on the box's lid.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The box is hinged from the left of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom.
